Rhys Knowles

RHYS KNOWLES is a fiction writer from The Bahamas. He was selected for an international writing residency at Fresh Milk Barbados in 2019 and served as resident writer and critic for the 2022 iteration of Caribbean Linked in Aruba. His writing has been published in Europe, North America, and the Caribbean. Most recently, his short story “Sponger Money” won the 2023 BCLF Elisabeth Nunez Prize for Writers in the Caribbean, and his debut book, Between Islands, was published by Poinciana Paper Press in 2025.
